Judge Joseph Sinde Warioba to grace TCD National conference as guest of honour

Former Prime Minister and First Vice-President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Judge Joseph Sinde Warioba, will be the guest of honour at the National Conference on Tanzania’s Political Situation, the 2025 General Election and the way forward.

The conference, organised by the Tanzania Centre for Democracy (TCD), will take place on 7 and 8 September 2026 in Dar es Salaam.

The two-day national conference will bring together political leaders, representatives of political parties, democracy stakeholders and other key actors to reflect on Tanzania’s political situation, assess the 2025 General Election and deliberate on the country’s democratic and the way forward.

Judge Warioba served as Prime Minister and First Vice-President of the United Republic of Tanzania from 1985 to 1990. His participation as guest of honour will add significant experience and perspective to the national dialogue on Tanzania’s political development and democratic trajectory.

The conference will provide a platform for stakeholders to exchange views, reflect on lessons from the 2025 General Election and explore constructive ways of strengthening democratic institutions, political dialogue, national unity and good governance.

Through the conference, TCD continues its commitment to facilitating inclusive and meaningful dialogue among political and democratic stakeholders on matters of national importance.
